Tools needed:

Geological Hammer or normal hammer, Cold chisel, trowel, screw driver.

 

What is needed on a Fossils Galore Fossil Hunt:

Hard Hat. High visibility jacket or vest, suitable foot wear and a back pack.

Fossils Galore plans to do at least 20 or more Fossil hunts through the year.

Disclaimers will be provided at every Fossil Hunt.

Some tools or safety clothing can be provided as long as you let one us know after booking the event.

 

Health and safety and Conditions information (please read):

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER FOR A FOSSIL HUNT YOU must be 18 or over to register for Fossils Galore events. Children and families are also welcome when accompanied with a registered Adult who accepts responsibility for their safety.

Safety on Fossil Hunts: The following notice is to provide and clarify that you are responsible for your own personal safety and exclude Fossils Galore & World Fossil Forum and the event organisers and all associated third parties from any liability in the event of an accident or injury during a Fossils Galore Fossil Hunt event. When attending a fossil hunt organised by Fossils Galore & World Fossil Forum you understand and agree to take complete responsibility for your own safety and those that join you and also those around you, as well as the general public, whether they are part of the fossil hunt or not.

Fossils Galore & World Fossil Forum, or any of the organisers Do not accept responsibility or liability for your personal safety. During events we will offer information and personal experience relating to finding Fossils & Minerals only. We are unable to provide a formal risk assessment prior to or during the event.

There are quite a few potential hazards in the locations visited, which could result in serious injury or even death. Fossils Galore & World Fossil Forum and its organisers are not qualified to offer professional safety guidance. Please read and view the list of common hazards we have identified from our own personal experience, which you should consider alongside your own experience and research before attending one of Fossils Galore Fossil Hunts. If you have any questions relating to safety please ask us before attending a fossil hunt.

Booking a Fossils Galore Fossil Hunt: Please use The Fossils Galore online booking system or contact us to reserve a place for the required amount of participants that would like to take part in the event. After receiving payment you will be contacted straight away with the final details of the event including meeting times and places will be sent. If you have not received final details within two weeks of the event please contact us.

 

Cancellations & refunds: Fossils Galore have the right to cancel or reschedule any fossil hunt at any point in time before the original date specified. In the event of a cancellation or a change of date, all attendees will be notified immediately via email or phone and will be offered priority places at an alternative date or a complete refund. Fossils Galore and the organisers or associated third parties do not accept any responsibility for any additional costs or inconvenience (including and not limited to transport and accommodation) resulting from the cancellation.

You may cancel your places on the Fossils Galore fossil hunt at any point prior the event. A refund will only be offered if you notify Fossils Galore by email or phone no less than 7 days before the event takes place. All refunds are subject to a 20% administration fee which will be deducted from the amount due.

Due to fossil hunting being outdoors, we cannot guarantee favourable weather conditions before or during the fossil hunts. Fossils Galore and organisers are unable to offer refunds for bad weather conditions unless they are deemed too severe by the Fossils Galore fossil hunt organisers prior to the start and the event is subsequently cancelled or rescheduled. As for the above safety conditions, we are unable to accept any responsibility for participants during unfavourable or severe weather conditions. By attending the Fossils Galore fossil hunt event you agree to assess the weather and environmental conditions yourself regularly (for yourself and for those who join you) and make a personal judgment whether to proceed with any of the Fossils Galore Fossil Hunt organisers, third parties or other fossil hunt attendees.

Your personal property: Fossils Galore & World Fossil Forum and the organisers and all associated third parties accept no responsibility for your personal property belonging to any individual attending an organised fossil hunt event. You must understand and agree that any personal property used or carried with you, left in cars or at any other location, whether or not it is suggested you do so by the organisers, is done so at your own personal risk. You must understand and agree that should your actions, or the actions of anyone that joins you, cause damage to the property of the organisers, any third parties, the land owner (if applicable) or another member of the Fossils Galore fossil hunt group, or the general public, that you are solely responsible.
